Intención empresarial en emprendedores hispanos de Toronto

Este estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar los factores que influyen en la intención emprendedora y en la continuidad en el autoempleo entre inmigrantes hispanos en Toronto, utilizando como marco la Teoría del Comportamiento Planificado (TCP). Se utilizó un diseño cuantitativo de tipo transversal. Un total de 129 inmigrantes hispanos autoempleados respondieron una encuesta que midió sus actitudes hacia el emprendimiento, normas subjetivas, control conductual percibido, intención emprendedora y continuidad en el autoempleo. Los datos fueron analizados mediante análisis de trayectorias para probar las relaciones predictivas propuestas por la TCP. Los resultados revelaron que tanto la actitud (β = .30, p < .01) como las normas subjetivas (β = .27, p < .05) predijeron significativamente la intención emprendedora (R² = .26), mientras que el control conductual percibido no fue significativo (β = .09, p = .342). Además, la intención emprendedora predijo fuertemente la continuidad en el autoempleo (β = .75, R² = .56). El
ajuste general del modelo fue excelente (CFI = .996, GFI = .982, RMSEA = .036), lo que respalda la aplicabilidad de la TCP en este contexto. Los hallazgos ofrecen información valiosa para el diseño de políticas públicas y programas de apoyo destinados a fortalecer el autoempleo entre emprendedores inmigrantes. En conclusión, el estudio confirma la utilidad de la Teoría del Comportamiento Planificado y la Teoría de la Acción Razonada para explicar la intención de emprender y la continuidad en el autoempleo entre inmigrantes hispanos en Toronto. Los hallazgos, basados en datos de emprendedores activos, son relevantes no solo localmente, sino también en otras ciudades con alta presencia hispana, lo que amplía su aplicabilidad internacional.
