Abstract

The objective of this study was to know if the level of effectiveness of accounting processes influences the degree of quality of financial information perceived by accountants of the Mexican Interoceanic Union. The study was quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive, and predictive explanatory. The sampling used was non-probabilistic for convenience. The total population was 300 counters. The sample was 121 accountants from various non-profit organizations of the Mexican Interoceanic Union. The statistical technique to analyze the hypothesis was simple linear regression. The variable level of effectiveness of accounting processes explained 58.1% of the variance of the dependent variable degree of quality of financial information. The corrected R2 value was equal to .581. In the same way, the F value equal to 163.499 and the p value equal to 0.001 were obtained, inferring that there is a positive and strong linear influence between the level of effectiveness of accounting processes and the degree of quality of financial information for this population sample. In conclusion, when accounting processes are more effective, the quality of financial information tends to be higher, and this relationship is characterized as strong and positive. Therefore, improvement in accounting processes contributes to improving the quality of financial information.
